Our 8-Step Solar Process

WELCOME!

Thank you for choosing Cheetah Solar to secure your price protection, energy independence and help the environment.

SITE SURVEY

Our surveyor will measure all roof surfaces, check for roof integrity, map vents, measure sun hours and verify our initial design plans.
  • You don't have to be home for a site survey.
  • Have all gates & electrical panels unlocked.

DESIGN PLANS

Our engineering department will take the results from the site surveyor's reports and prepare your project's plans to submit for your review.
  • There are official plans that we will submit to your local AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction).
  • We will email you a copy of your plans.
  • Plans take 7-10 business days to complete.

PERMITTING

We work with your local jurisdiction to ensure that the permitting process goes smoothly. We file all paperwork and get the process completed.
  • Permitting can take 1-2 weeks depending on your local AHJ.
  • If you ever want to receive an ETA for approval of your permit, please contact us.

UTILITY APPROVAL

In addition to your AHJ needing to approve your project, so does your utility company. We take care of each step of the process up until approval.
  • This is another step in the process (similar to permitting) that requires patience. Utilities can take up to two weeks to approve our applications.

INSTALLATION

There is where the fun really starts! Installation date! Install dates are approximately two weeks after utility approval. We will call to confirm this date.
  • You don't have to be home for installation.
  • Have all gates & electrical panels unlocked.
  • Ensure all pets are inside the home.
  • Install team needs access to all roof surfaces.

FINAL INSPECTION

The end is near! Your solar project will need to have a final inspection completed by your local AHJ.
  • This inspection ensures that the plans we submitted for permitting were followed completely.
  • This inspection generally occurs 7-10 business days following your installation.

PERMISSION TO OPERATE

Congratulations! After one last inspection by your utility, you will be given the PTO (Permission to Operate) for your system.
  • This final step occurs approximately 2-3 weeks after installation of your system.
  • We will also have someone from our team come out to help you turn on your system.
